Caught In The Crossfire

Here are two photos that were in the newspaper that I had blown up! I think it's fun to add the pictures and articles of when our kids when they make it in the paper and with Holly's book I wanted to include all the things that featured her! I did journal what was written in my journal box. It wouldn't fit otherwise.

The colors I choose were the colors of her team! I matted the pictures, used two different fonts cut with my Cricut - Opposites Attract,  Street Sign & Sports Mania. I added the tag and arrow which was from We R Memory Keepers.

SOFTBALL

Hello my scrappy friends! I hope your enjoying your weekend! I am my daughter had a long weekend from nursing school and was able to come home for the weekend!!! Love it:):)

On to the page working with 8 x 10 photos  I think limits what you can do on a page and as you know I really need to learn the layering technique, I'm so intimidated. So with that said I kept it simple and welded my title using my Gypsy and the Sports Mania Cricut Cartridge.. I stamped on the swirls and added a few gems and made the flowers stacking circles on top of a piece of fabric that I used my heat embossing gun to sear the edges.and or course I had to add a little glitter glue to the edges!

I Received A Thing of Beauty Award!

My friend Susan from  http://www.cricutandgrasshopper.blogspot.com/  was so kind to think of me with this award! I hope you will hop over and check out her blog, she is the sweetest person who all ways has such kind words for me. Even lately I haven't participated in many challenges because I'm working on a scrap book for a friends daughter. I haven't had many comments lately, but Susan has still been popping over to leave a nice comment and make me feel like I'm not just wasting my time even posting my LO's. Thanks Again Susan you are a very talented lady and I'm glad to be following you:)

Here are the rules for the A Thing of Beauty Award:

Must share 5 things about yourself (1 of the listed items must be something about your craft).

Here are the 5 things about myself:

1. I like to do scrap book pages the most and even though I love to see others beautiful cards and draw inspiration from them I still would rather work on a scrap book page. May be someday if I ever get caught up with life I will have more time to work on cards!

2. I used to be very sporty and loved volley ball and tennis, softball skiing water and snow ect. But with health issues I can't participate in them any more.

3. I'm a Breast Cancer Survivor!!!!!!

4. I get sick on roller coasters and sea sick now that I'm older:( sadness

5. I married my high school sweetheart:)

Now I would like to pass along this award to the following bloggers (in no particular order):
1. Carrie from - http://doubleclickconnections.blogspot.com/ I have been following Carrie for about as long as I have been blogging!  I love to follow her because she makes the most beautiful cards and yes I do get inspiration from her work, even though I don't make cards! lol!!! Thanks for all the inspiration:)

2. Deborah from - http://lovemypaper.blogspot.com/ Deborah is another fellow scrapper who I have been following from the beginning of my blogging! She does amazing work and I love that she not only does cards but layouts as well !!

3. Georgiana  from - http://carsonscricutcreations.blogspot.com  Georgiana, is again I have been following since about the beginning of my blogging days! It's so great to have so many places to go to find inspiration and she is one that I like to hop over to find that!

4. Sherrie from - http://sherriescraps.blogspot.com/  I have just started to follow Sherrie and Wow another talented crafter! She does mostly cards but are they ever cute! Again very inspiring:)

5.Tracey from - http://gracescraps.blogspot.com/  She is So Talented! You have to check her out I'm talking amazing:)

Thanks again Susan! I'm very honored and appreciative:)
Hope everyone is enjoying your long holiday weekend!

All Star

Hello my scrappy friends:)

I can't believe I'm all most done with Holly's softball album!!! Whoop Whoop!! So that means maybe I can jump back into doing some challenges again! I miss doing the challenges. Well I did another simple page using my cricut  to cut out the title and the date, all that was left to do was mat the articles and embellish with some chipboard stickers! Oh, I guess I did cover up part of the paper, it said MVP and was the wrong color so I traced over it and cut out the shape and adhered it over the paper, added some glitter glue and done!

Thanks for stopping by:)

Marlins

Hello my Scrappy Friends!

Here is a team picture with Holly. I just love looking back at pictures of when the kids were younger! Now of course this is my friends daughter but I still think it's neat to see how much they have changed!

I tried to pick up the pattern in the paper and used my Creative Memories circle cutter and cut out starting with the smallest circle and creating larger so I could arrange them in different orders. Then I cut out a star and used both parts and placed them over the circles. My title was cut using George and Basic Shapes Cricut Cart and the other word was cut using Street Signs Cricut Cartridge.

Memories

A friend of Holly's made this collage photo for her and she gave it to me to put it in her book. Scrapping 8x10 pages are a challenge for me so I thought I wanted to make it pop off the page a little more so I framed it out with a silver/blue yarn that I wrapped around brads in the corners.

I used the Cricut Cartridge Home Decor for the title and stamped the flowers with blue ink using Hero Art stamps and then hand cut them out. I topped off the flowers with handmade flowers that I rolled and put glitter on the edges! The small flower has a little jewel in the center.

Thanks for visiting:)

Scholar Athletes

Here's yet another page to add to Holly's book! I cut this out of a booklet added some blue border strips, cut out my title using Wild West Cricut Cartridge and the softball border I welded together using my Gypsy and the Sports Mania Cricut Cartridge. To make the title stand out I chalked the edges and then traced with a colored pencil for more pop! After I took this picture I added an arrow pointing to her name.

Artful Delight Sketch # 4

I titled this page Baby Face! I just love when Isaiah makes that face when he is studying something.
Isaiah is Six months old in this photo.

For the title I used two different fonts mixing Old West with Street Sign Cricut Cartridges. I saved myself a little time by welding the letter together that way I didn't have to place them down individually. I tied a little bow on the B. I love the buttons I had found at a yard sale!!! They were the perfect color for the page. I hand stitched the dash lines to add a little more dimension. The elephant was cut along time ago for another project which I didn't end up using, it was cut using Cricut Sampler cartridge. So perfect for my page with the little face on the elephant and I just had to give him blue wiggle eye's! My paper is from My Minds Eye "Complete Boy" and card stock. Now that I think of it the paper with the words was from a pack I separated along time ago??

Hope you enjoyed my page too!

Artful Delight Sketch # 1

I just love how this page of my daughter and her family turned out! This is for the challenge over at Artful Delight! She is having a 14 day challenge and you can do as many sketches as you want to win the prize! I love the sketches and chose to complete some family photos that worked great with the sketches!

This page came together pretty quickly! I picked out my paper and used a bowl to trace around using my disappearing marker then I cut it out being careful to leave some of the flowers around the circle! Then I used foam squares to pop out the petals which added a little dimension! Please excuse the blurry photo, I'm not patient enough to go and take another one!

My paper was reversible so I was able to use the other side to cut out the smaller circle! Most of my paper is from The Paper Loft "grandmas house"  I love this line of paper! I did use some card stock to mat the photo and add the brown strip. The sticker letters are also from The Paper Loft!

Here's the sketch-

Hope you'll play along too, you have until May 23rd.

Looking forward to your thoughts!

Authentic All Out Hustle

I have been busy working in what little free time I have on Holly's Softball book. Here's another page I finished!

I love the batter from Sports Mania Cricut cartridge. I used my brown marker and inked the edges for added dimension.

I used the Cricut Cart Wild West for the year. I also used George and Basic Shapes and welded around the JV which was from Wild West too. I really like that font!
Thanks for stopping:)

Cards for Mothers Day

I know can you believe it?!   I never make cards, I finally figured out why, because you read a card and love it and then you throw it in a drawer, box or ??  I just don't like spending my time making cards I guess because I don't know if I will ever get all the pictures I have that I want to scrap done. With that said I did WANT to make my mother and mother -in- law cards because they are both VERY SPECIAL to me!

My Mom!

This is the card I made for my Mom!

I used scraps and gems and Cricut Cartridge Sweet Treats a vellum quote and some glitter!

My Mother - in - Law

Here's her card which is very similar but I added a button to the top and didn't have any quotes to add and my printer is out of ink so I hand wrote the same sentiment!

This picture turned out a little blury and it's a cloudy rainy day so it is what it is!

Happy Mothers Day:)

Check out this flower!

I follow Elizabeth @ 217 Creations and she had a great tutorial on making flowers!  I just had to make one so I stopped the video a few times and went and made my cuts and here is what I came up with!

I used Sweet Treats for the flower and I sparkled up and used a little glitter on my flower and the tulle and used a sparkly jewel brad in the center!

I hope you'll hop over to Elizabeth's blog for all the details!
Have a Blessed Day:)
~Kim

For the Love of the Game!

Here's another page for Holly's book! Again I kept it fairly simple, I let the design on the paper save me some time!

Close up of the flowers.

The Recipe was simple, I used paper from We R Memory Keepers, Designer Pad MVP and some of the embellishments that were included in the pack! I made my own flower using a tutorial I saw by Kim from Papercraft Star's Thursday Tutorial, it was on January 6, 2011. The while flower is from the Paper Studio. The only other things I used were a gem on the flower and a button sewn on the other flower! Oh I also used silver ink and inked around the edges and also silver glitter glue on the flowers!

Thanks for stopping by!

More pages for Holly

Here's another very simple 2 page LO, I love simple when you have many pages to do all about the same subject. My pages for Holly are all about her softball career. If you have been following me you would know that Holly is my friends daughter. She signed with the SCF Manatees!!! Whoop Whoop Holly!! How exciting for a young person to be able to play something they love!!

A few close ups.

I had found this little manatee a long time ago and thought it would be perfect with a bat!

I used Sports Mania to make the softballs and then I stacked them using foam tape.
The found I used was Cricut Cart - Street Sign.

Thanks for visiting!
