Down On The Farm

Here is a two pager I finished of my husbands grandfather. I have been trying to work on the older heritage photos. I hope to be able to get them scrapped while I have people to help tell me about the photos.
I used the Country Life Cricut cartridge  and hand cut the silo, barn and fence. If you click on the picture you get a clearer view of the pages!

Have a Blessed Day:)

Five Challenges Rolled into One...

Hello my scrappy friends! I'm so happy that I was finally able to finish another page! I worked on this page for days just trying to figure out what to do. Let me tell you  I made many changes! Here's the challenges I used!  I choose to use the sketch from Get Picky Sketch Challenge #7.

I choose to flip the sketch!

Whimsical Wednesday is a new challenge blog and I was so excited to participate in the first  month of challenge's on the blog! The challenge was to make a home decor project and you could use Easter as your theme! I went with the Easter theme after looking through my old photo albums. I'm using this page as home decor right now during Easter by placing it on a stand. It's fun to look back and see my kids when they were so young!

The Lollipop Ladies is a new challenge blog to me and I thought it fit perfectly with my page. For the challenge we were to be inspired by Easter eggs & Sparkly. I added Easter eggs in my design and added glitter glue on top to give it sparkle! I also wanted the shimmer in the inspiration photo and I used a shimmery ribbon and sewed a pattern on it to mimic Easter eggs with DNC floss I also added more sparkle with gems!

I was also able to use Crop Suey's challenge which was to make homemade embellies using your scraps. I made my flowers out of scraps! I also used scraps in my title and used scrap ribbon which I made homemade because I hand stitched the detail on the ribbon!

Frosted Designs was the last challenge I fit into my project, which was to make your own embellishments.  As above I said I made my some of my flowers and sewing on the ribbon.

Hope you like my page!
Thanks for stopping by:)

A Sketch challenge @ Scrapville

This was such a fun challenge because I got my Lil Sister from Just Dabblen to do this challenge too! I sent her some pictures and I hope they made it in time, so we could do the same challenge and see what each other ended up with!
My Sister Lisa is SUPER talented and I can't wait to see what she came up with!
Here's the sketch -

Here's my Page-

I rotated the sketch to better fit my pictures. Cut some of the pattern from behind the pictures to use on the page.

I added a little distressing and added buttons and bakers twine.

The rattan rope at the bottom of the picture is saved from something?? The title is from the Cricut Cartridge Paisley. I used a marker to put little stitches around my title and journaling block. I also added a little glitter glue to some of the centers of the pattern paper.

Hope you like may page!
Don't forget to check out my Sisters link below and see how her page turned out!

I Actually Made a Card!

I have been telling you all that I wanted to make a card but I have to admit I have a hard time doing it! I feel like I'm so behind on scrapping my family that I hate to take time out even to make a card.
But alas I made a card!
While I was in Orlando this past Friday at the scrap book convention I had bought a Scor-Pal at the show and knew I would need to use it to make cards too! I love it!!!
At the scrap book convention I met so many wonderful people! Crafter's are the best! One lady told me about making flowers out of tulle so I thought why not! I bought a small package and thought I would give it a try! What you do is cut your tulle in circles and attach it with a brad or something then you take your heat gun and sear the edges! Easy Peasy!!!

This is the first flower I used with this method and yes it is not perfect but nonetheless I LOVE it!!

I thought I would make this card for my daughter for her 26 birthday!!! Wow I'm getting old:)

 Here's my card!

This card is a Triangular Tri-fold!
I cut the flowers out using Cricut Cart - Sweet Treats, I crumpled them and then inked the edges and layered /formed the petals and used some 3-D pop dots.
Hope you like it!

Too Funny I called my Mother In Law to tell her about the page and she informed me it was 51 yrs!!! I knew that!!! I can't believe I made that mistake!
The picture looked better in the morning light than now that is why I left the other photo up:) I left my title up at the top because I all ready entered it into the challenge with the wrong years on it! OOOPS !!!

Batter Up........Sketch # 112

Hello my Scrappy Friends & Welcome all my New Scrappy Friends Thanks to MOMO!!
I know I haven't posted for a while now. It has been so hard finding the time to get in my scrap room because I watch my grandson who likes my undivided attention! I have to put my priorities in order and he will be grown up before I know it so I chose to put family before my own wants..
I mean who could resist this face:)

Ok enough about that! I was able to fit a challenge in this week for The Scrappiest.
Here is the sketch-

Here is my take on the sketch

This picture was taken with the flash on because with it off it was just too dark!
A friend of mine wanted me to make a scrapbook of her daughter and all her softball photos! This is the first page I have done for her!

My recipe was pretty simple. I used black walnut ink spray. This was the first time I have ever used this product! It really went with the paper from We R Memory Keepers "Designer Scrapbook Pack."
I also inked the edges with my ink pad from Pretty Color. I used paper from DCWV and cardstock.
I sewed around the border of the pattern paper using a zig zag stitch.  I used a brad and stamped a receipt, using the stamp from Jenni Bowlin. I thought this would be a place for the girls names and jersey #'s, I'll leave that to my friend to fill out. Last I used my Cricut cart  Disney's Hannah Montana for the font and Sports Mania cart.

Hope you like my page!
